Owns and operates subsidized housing for homeless individuals (e.g. Essex, Zygmunt Arendt, Arnett Watson, and others). Tenants pay approximately 30% of their income. Requires letter of verification of homeless situation from homeless agency. Support services are available at each residence and the organization operates an employment training program.

Applications for housing accepted at Senator Residence, 519 Ellis Street (between Hyde and Leavenworth) on Tuesdays (applicants can sign up for interviews starting at 7am on Tuesdays). Only the first 12 applicants are seen. Applications not taken any other time. Spanish. Wheelchair accessible.

The most efficient way to ensure the wiki has the best information is to add the 2010 HAP Manual text into its respective wiki agency page under a new section “2010 HAP Manual”. It will then be up to future wiki users to determine whether and how to update the agency page with the new information.

Requires letter of verification of homeless situation from homeless agency. On-site employment opportunities, vocational counseling by Baker Places. Some tenants are trained and paid to provide services. Applications for all 4 buildings accepted at Senator Residence, 519 Ellis Street ( between Hyde and Leavenworth) on Tuesdays (applicants must be present by 7am).

How to apply for Waiting List for the Project Based Section 8 buildings: at Senator Residence 519 Ellis St, every Tuesday at 1:00 pm (processes only 6 applications)

You may be eligible based on residency in a supportive housing site; homelessness verification; or as a recipient of designated public benefits. Please contact the Training Manager at 415.749.2790 with questions regarding specific program eligibility requirements.
