Iris Center provides the following services through the following programs (therapeutic child care is available for all clients to use while receiving services):

Iris ProjectEdit

Individual and group counseling for women, including HIV+ women, who want help to stop using drugs and/or alcohol or want help to continue not using drugs and or alcohol. A specialized component for lesbian women. Services available in Spanish.

Intensive Outpatient ProgramsEdit

For women who want help to stop using drugs and/or alcohol or want to continue not using drugs and/or alcohol. Primarily serves low-income women of color who are addicted to crack/cocaine, alcohol, and heroin.

Genesis ProgramEdit

Serves women who are dual diagnosis (have disabilities of substance abuse and mental illness) or triple diagnosis (have disabilities of substance abuse and mental illness and HIV illness).

2013-2014 HAP Manual UpdatesEdit

The 2013-2014 HAP Manual has many changes that are not currently part of SFHomeless.net. The question is whether the wiki or the manual contains the most up to date information. The most efficient way to ensure the wiki has the best information is to add the 2013-2014 HAP Manual text into its respective wiki agency page under a new section “2013-2014 HAP Manual Updates”. It will then be up to future wiki users to determine whether and how to update the agency page with the new information.

The IRIS Center is a women’s community-based organization that offers free and low-cost mental health, substance abuse, and HIV prevention services to high-risk women of color, focusing on low-income single mothers, homeless women, sex workers, and drug abusers. The mission of the IRIS Center is to provide high-quality prevention, education, and behavioral health services to uninsured/underinsured women and their families living in underserved communities. The IRIS Center offers the following services: mental health, HIV services, harm reduction and abstinence recovery services, parenting skills, child care & counseling services, Latina services, and LBT groups.
