Provides a long-term (6-12 month) residential rehabilitation program for men and women with substance abuse and other social or spiritual problems. Residents receive spiritual counseling, individual and family counseling and group therapy. Residents must be physically able to work, seeking treatment for substance abuse, detoxed before entering, agree to participate in weekly Twelve-Step programs such as Alcoholics Anonymous or Narcotics Anonymous, chapel services and bible studies.

Offers a separate facility for women only. Transition houses for men and women graduates are also available. Nicotine Cessation class is a required part of the program. Call 415-643-8000 for more information.

[edit] Harbor Light Detox Center for Alcoholism and Drug Abuse

Safe, warm clean environment for withdrawal from alcohol and other drugs. Meals, linens and clothes provided. Medical back-up by S.F. General Hospital. Detox counselors assess needs of each individual and make referrals to other programs. Wheelchair.

[edit] Harbor Light Secondary Recovery Home

Long-term residential program (6 mos.-year). Residents develop and implement re-entry plan. Other services include employment seeking skills, continuing educational or vocational training and re-socialization. Alcohol and drug addicted adults. Agency referral or client should call for an appointment to fill out an application. Appropriate placement after completion of primary program. Wheelchair accessible.

Other services of Harbor House include: individual and group counseling and social activities.
