A cash assistance program for immigrants who are disabled, blind, or age 65 or older. To qualify, they must not be receiving SSI/SSDI benefits, they cannot be a citizen or a national of the United States, and they must not be a fleeing felon. Other rules and regulations also apply. Call for details.
CAPI is a state-funded program that pays cash benefits to lawful non-citizens who do not qualify for SSI/SSP solely due to their immigration status. In San Francisco, CAPI is administered through the Medi-Cal program because the benefits are for a similar population as CALM. To receive CAPI, a person must be over the age of 65, blind, or disabled; be a non-citizen legally present in the United States; and meet certain other criteria.
