Participation in the Modified Payment Program (MPP) through CalWORKs/TANF may help a family convince a landlord to rent to them. Families on the Modified Payment Program (MPP) through CalWORKs/TANF have their rent paid directly to their landlords by CalWORKs/TANF. The CalWORKs/TANF check paid to the recipient will be reduced by the amount of the rent. CalWORKs/TANF recipients must speak to their eligibility worker to gain access to the MPP.
