A multiservice agency that provides a broad range of bilingual/bicultural social, recreational and educational services to seniors and individuals with disabilities. Chinese (Cantonese, Chui Chow, Mandarin, Shangaiese,Toishanese), Filipino (Tagalog), Russian, Vietnamese.
Offers citizenship services, with application completion, English as a Second Language (ESL) and citizenship classes, tutoring, interview preparation and voter preparation.
Fifteen senior centers offer services which can include assistance filling out forms, translation, letter-writing, information and referral, consumer and health education and social and recreational activities, discount card programs and congregate site and home delivered meals for seniors, age 60 or over. Menus include western style, Asian style and Filipino style meals.
Provides employment training and placement programs to senior immigrants so they may earn a living wage and continue to be independent. Offers a variety of training opportunities including certified home health aides and certified housekeepers, childcare, food service and clerical support workers.
[edit] The Care Management Program
Provides assessment of physical, psychological, social and living situations and includes care planning and services arrangement, follow-up care monitoring, counseling, advocacy, crisis intervention, information and referral and home visits.
Provides adult day services to frail elders, disabled adults and seniors with Alzheimer’s disease or other dementia. Provides bilingual, bicultural skills nursing, therapies, medical social work and certified home health services to homebound Chinese individuals.
[edit] Residential facilities
Operates four facilities: Lady Shaw Senior Center, with 70 low-income subsidized apartment unites in Chinatown / North Beach and Leonard House, a 10 bed facility designed to care for frail seniors who need 24 hour board and care services. Provides residential care facilities in Santa Clara County for 34 seniors and 25 seniors with Alzheimer’s disease. Also offers assistance in locating low-income public and private independent housing and residential board and care homes. Housing counselors help with the application, education seniors in tenant rights and provide counseling on landlord / tenant disputes.

Provides free of charge services including chore services, housekeeping, homemaking and non-medical personal care on an emergency and temporary basis.
